John Turner, a CPA and the owner of The Trucker’s Accountant, said that the idea for this unique service came when the IRS disallowed all business deductions for two trucker clients because they lost all of their receipts and supporting documentation. "That’s when I determined that I needed to do something to help truckers keep up with their bookkeeping and paperwork. We wrote the Road Ledger software to provide truckers with a fast, efficient and easy-to-use method of providing copies of all business documents in case the originals are lost and of keeping track of their business," said Turner.
